The idea for this documentary was born out of our interaction with the French metal band PSYKUP and their team. They were set to perform in Casablanca at the L’Boulevard festival, which led us to ask: "Is there metal in Morocco?" When we consulted our circle, no one knew anything about it, yet the subject struck a chord with them.
We therefore took advantage of PSYKUP's concert to travel to Casablanca and explore the local metal culture, its artists, its key figures, etc. But also to examine the challenges related to this style of music in Morocco, including the technical and logistical limitations that explain the absence of international media coverage for this scene, as well as the history of Moroccan metal and its difficult beginnings (late '90s) to the present day.
